Permanent or Passing

Permanent or Passing is a bronze skeleton arm covered in a jelly-like clear wax. This sculpture consists of a very strong and everlasting material, bronze, and a very fragile and ephemeral material, wax. Permanent or Passing comments on the fragility of the human existence and brings the thought to mind of what will be left of us when we die. Just like a human body, this sculpture has an already decaying flesh aspect meanwhile the bronze interior bones remain intact. This forces the audience to confront the idea of death and what they wish to remain intact when their body is no longer.
